Man Arrested After Barricading Himself In SW Side Building
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A male who barricaded himself inside a building for more than six hours in the Clearing neighborhood on the Southwest Side is in custody, police said Tuesday morning.
Few details were available.
But police said they received a report that a person was barricaded inside a building in the 6000 block of South Harlem Avenue about 11:15 p.m. on Monday.
The male was taken into custody without incident about 5:25 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
He had climbed up onto the building's roof at some point during the situation, although negotiators were eventually able to convince him to come down, Greer said.
