Man Accused Of Using Fake $100 Bills To Gamble At Elgin Casino
(STMW) -- A Sycamore man will appear in court Wednesday on charges he used counterfeit $100 bills to play blackjack at northwest suburban Elgin's Grand Victoria Casino.
Darnell Coleman, 30, of Sycamore was charged with four felony counts of delivering a forged document.
According to Grand Victoria security officers, Coleman entered the casino the morning of May 20, pretended to use an ATM for the benefit of surveillance cameras, and then used four $100 bills already in his possession to play blackjack. All four bills later were determined to be bogus.
The next day, Grand Victoria officials said, Coleman came back and again played blackjack, and after he left, two counterfeit $100 bills were found in the day's proceeds. When he came back yet again the day after that, security officers called police, reports stated.
Bond was set at $10,000, and he will next appear in court Wednesday.
