Man Accused Of Tossing Propane Tank, Fire Extinguisher At Cops
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man threw a propane tank and fire extinguisher at police officers from the balcony of his Streeterville apartment Tuesday night, police said.
Police officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the 200 block of East Illinois Street about 9:37 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez said, adding that officers found the man tossing items from a balcony.
A police source said the man, who is an attorney, was playing loud music when officers arrived at his apartment. Officers did not see the man throw the propane tank, the source said, but police found evidence implicating the man.
The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for a psychological exam, Perez said.
