Man, 59, Found Slain In Unincorporated Mokena
MOKENA, Ill. (CBS) -- Police are trying to find out who killed a 59-year-old southwest suburban man whose body was found in his home after a burglary.
Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, Will County sheriff's police were called to a home in the 13300 block of 184th place in unincorporated Mokena just north of Interstate 80.
Police were called for a burglary, and family members at the home said they had not heard from its resident, Dwight Jones, since Friday. They had come to check on him, and found that the back sliding glass door was unlocked and the home had been ransacked.
A decomposed body believed to be that of Jones was found in the master bedroom, police said. The Will County coroner's office has not released an official identity because the body was beginning to decompose.
But the death has already been ruled a homicide. Police also discovered that Jones' 2008 gray, four-door Volkswagen Jetta, Illinois license plate A234576, was missing from his garage.
