Metra Rock Island Line Resumes Normal Schedule After Train Hits Pedestrian
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Trains on Metra's Rock Island Line were back on a normal schedule Monday afternoon, hours after an inbound train from Joliet it a pedestrian near New Lenox.
Rock Island Line train #402 struck a person on the tracks in a wooded area between the New Lenox and Mokena stations, around 5:45 a.m.
Several inbound and outbound trains were delayed between 10 and 70 minutes after the accident, as authorities investigated.
As of Monday afternoon, all Rock Island trains were back on a normal schedule.
