Major Construction Planned For Jane Addams Tollway
DES PLAINES, Ill. (CBS) -- Major construction is planned for the Jane Addams Tollway this summer, but only for 27 of the 77 miles of the roadway.
As CBS 2's Kris Habermehl reports, the Jane Addams Tollway (I-90), formerly the Northwest Tollway, is rough in many spots. This summer, the Illinois Toll Highway Authority plans to resurface 27 miles of the tollway.
The Chicago Tribune reports the Toll Highway Authority is considering several options for upgrades to the Jane Addams, including bus and commuter rail components to meet increased demand.

The tollway is in need of reconstruction from from Interstate 39 near Rockford to the Kennedy Expressway at O'Hare International Airport, because of deterioration of the more than half-century old infrastructure.
The Toll Highway Authority will have to work with transit agencies on a plan for the multi-billion dollar projects, the Tribune reported.
