Magnificent Mile Jewelry Store Robbed
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man who implied that he had a gun had employees of a Michigan Avenue jewelry store lie on the floor of the store as he took an unknown amount of merchandise Monday afternoon, police said.
The robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. at a jewelry store on the 300 block of North Michigan Avenue, according to police News Affairs Officer Anne Dwyer.
The robber, who is described so far only as a male in a gray hooded sweatshirt, implied he had a weapon but none was displayed, Dwyer said.
The store did not immediately know what was taken because he had employees lie down on the floor while he took merchandise, Dwyer said. The store will have to do an inventory to determine what he took. They will also look at surveillance video to get a better description of the robber.
No one was injured in the robbery, Dwyer said.
