Madigan Unveils 2012 Safe Shopping Guide For Holidays
CHICAGO (CBS) -- As the holidays approach, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has released her annual Safe Shopping Guide.
As WBBM Newsradio's Terry Keshner reports, Madigan says it's an extensive list.
"Everything from toys that are covered in lead paint, baby dolls that have fingers and toes that apparently are a choking hazard, defective strollers and power strips that are a fire hazard," she said.
This is the sixth year for Madigan's guide.
For the first time, it includes food.
"We need to keep informed of food recalls if we want to stay safe, because there have been over 300 food recalls since the beginning of this year," Madigan said. "And in just the last two months there have been 107 food items recalled."
