Made In Chicago: Pedal To The People
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Adam Clark pedals what he preaches.
As WBBM Newsradio's John Cody reports, Clark tows spare parts to broken bikes behind his own bicycle, which is the mobile headquarters for his service – Pedal to the People.

"Most of the time, it's during crowds – people with lots of bikes, maybe at concerts. I've gone to libraries, cafes, where people are coming in and out with their bikes – anywhere I think cycling will be encouraged," he said.
Clark says of course the number one repair for pedal to the people is flat tire replacements.
"The second one is probably like a chain that falls off or breaks," he said. "Those are the most common calls that I get when it's an emergency service."
He estimated the time required for changing a flat bike tire at "maybe like less than five minutes, maybe, if it's a front wheel. If it's a crazy, three-speed internal coaster break, Amsterdam-style bike on the rear tire, it might take a little longer."
Clark says pedal to the people ready to replace just about anything that rolls under human power.
"They make tubes for every type of tire," he said. "I've even got stuff for baby strollers. They pop a lot. They're 12-inch a lot of the times, so I carry those just in case. But the most common size is usually like a 26 or 27 conventional bike."
