Lyons Man Sentenced For Gun Trafficking, Some Firearms Turned Up At Chicago Crime Scenes
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man from suburban Lyons is sentenced to eight and a half years in federal prison for an interstate gun-running operation.
Twenty-six-year-old John Phillips pleaded guilty to unlawful firearms dealing. Prosecutors said he bought rifles and semi-automatic weapons from private sellers in Kentucky and brought them back to Chicago for convicted felons.
Some of the guns turned up at Chicago crime scenes. Two other men have also been charged.
