Lyons Home Invasion Suspects Arrested After Chase Ends In Englewood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman's quick thinking during a home invasion in the western suburbs resulted in the robbers eventually being caught in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.
Lyons police said two men entered a home in the 4500 block of Pulaski Avenue around 7:15 p.m., held up the two homeowners, and then started rummaging through the house.
What they might not have known was the homeowners' adult daughter was upstairs, and she called police.
"She said to our call-taker that she'd seen one weapon," Lyons Police Chief Jim Keating said.

The chief said the daughter provided great information about the robbers.
"It was very heroic. I mean, something that you step up when the time is there," he said.
Officers showed up as the suspects were leaving the home, and the robbers led police on an hour-long chase along the Stevenson and Dan Ryan expressways. Police said the two men surrendered peacefully after crashing their car at 65th Street and Wentworth Avenue just off the Dan Ryan.
The two men were arrested, and charges were pending Tuesday morning.
Police said it appears the family was targeted, and they're confident there is no danger to the victims' neighbors.
"It's a very quiet community in that part of town. Actually, all of Lyons is a very good, safe, security; and I would say, at this time, there is no evidence that they should be alarmed," Keating said.
