CHICAGO (CBS) -- The Lieutenant Governor of Illinois says there's been progress for women, but not enough in terms of pay at an equal pay for women rally in downtown Chicago.

Lt. Governor Sheila Simon pointed to fellow speakers Attorney General Lisa Madigan, County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, congresswoman Jan Schakowsky and County Clerk Dorothy Brown as a symbol of how things have changed since her mother Jeannie became a county prosecutor.
"When my mother was first prosecuting criminal cases, sometimes they wouldn't give her the case file, they said, 'This is too much for a woman to see, right?' So it is a very different world that my two daughters are growing up in," said Simon.
Simon said women have gone from getting paid half as much as men to getting paid 75 percent, but not enough according to speakers at the rally for equal pay for women at Chicago's Daley Center
