CHICAGO (CBS) -- Loyola University officials confirmed a missing MBA student's body was found in Belmont Harbor this morning.
CBS 2's Mike Puccinelli reports police were called to the northern end of Belmont Harbor around 9 a.m., and pulled the body of a man in his 20s from the water.
Not long after the body was recovered from Belmont Harbor, police cancelled a missing person alert for 25-year-old Christopher Evans, who went missing Sunday morning, when he was at Roscoe's Tavern with friends, and began behaving strangely.
A Loyola University spokeswoman Maeve Kiley confirmed the body found in the Harbor was Evans.
The body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, which will conduct an autopsy.
Loyola Student Missing Since Pride Weekend
Evans' mother, Anita Evans, had said police told her that someone could have slipped something into her son's drink at Roscoe's Tavern on Sunday. Friends said he was acting strangely in the bar before he ran east on Roscoe Street.
"I really think something really bad happened to him this weekend," his mother said.
Raymond Khananis, an employee of the 7-Eleven across the street from the bar said sometime between 8 and 10 p.m. Sunday, he thinks Evans came in and asked to look around for his lost cell phone.
"The second time he walked in, he asked permission to check our trash can, to see if he may have accidentally dropped it in the trash can," he said.
Khananis said a security video has been turned over to police.
