Lovie Smith On Fan Support In Nashville: It Was Soldier Field South
(WBBM) Bears fans have been flocking to road games all season, but head coach Lovie Smith said the fan support during Sunday's 51-20 road win over the Titans in Nashville was especially noticeable.
"I cannot tell you how important it is to our football team to see -- and it started at the hotel," Smith told WBBM Newsradio 780 & 105.9 FM's Josh Liss Monday morning. "We had more fans at the hotel than any trip we've ever been on and they took that to the stadium. We keep talking a lot about 'Soldier Field South' and that's what it was. Just thousands of fans there. The 'Let's Go Bears' chant helps the team so much. That win had a lot to do with what they did."

The Bears will now turn their attention to another game in which they should get tremendous fan support: Sunday night's clash against the 7-1 Houston Texans at Soldier Field.
"I think they are excited about playing us also," Smith said. "Two 7-1 teams. NBC hit gold a little bit televising this game. They're an excellent football team. We think we are. But that's why you go to the field to see who exactly is the best football team."
The Bears have won six games in a row, but will likely get their toughest test since losing to the Packers in Green Bay Week 2.
