Lovie: Peppers As Good As Advertised
As the biggest free-agent of last offseason, Julius Peppers signed a contract for over $90 million with the Chicago Bears, and he's lived up to the expectations that came with it.
"It would be hard for me to say exactly what kind of impact Julius has, without going on and on about it," Bears head coach Lovie Smith said. "But whether it's playing the run, playing the pass, everything we ask him to do, everything I wanted him to be coming in, he's done."
There were some people who were disappointed in Peppers' sack numbers earlier in the season, but after ending the regular season with eight sacks, those people no longer have anything to criticize.
Beyond the stat sheet, Peppers was an impact player all season long, anyone who watched a game could see that. It's those elements of Peppers' game that have been so impressive.
"He's been a factor of offenses preparing for him," Lovie said. "Each week, 'this is what we have to do for Peppers.' So I couldn't be more pleased with what he did throughout the course of the year."
