Lovie Likes Rose For MVP
It seems like the race for the NBA's MVP has already been decided, and rightfully so. Derrick Rose has lead the Chicago Bulls to the top of the Eastern Conference and put up plenty of highlights along the way.
And it seems as often as Rose sends the crowd into a frenzy over one of those highlights, someone publicly endorses him as the league's MVP, and you can add Bears head coach Lovie Smith to that club.
"Is there any doubt? Dominating player," Smith told the Chicago Tribune. "I've seen him play, of course, a couple of times. It's just tremendous what he's doing from the point guard position. All the skills you want in a player and a leader, he has them."
But Rose's importance to the Bulls goes beyond just the plays he makes, it's the kind of leader and teammate he is.
"You just look at the way Derrick Rose and the way he handles himself," Smith said. "That's what you want, to be able to build your program and team around a guy like him. He says and does all the right things, is a humble guy, and just a heck of a basketball player. We're gonna go a long way with a guy like him."
