Lovie For Coach Of The Year?
It was just a few months ago that some fans were counting down the days of Lovie Smith's coaching tenure in Chicago. However, now it appears that on the heels of four consecutive wins and a 8-3 record, Lovie might be making a case for the NFL Coach of the Year award.
"Well yeah I think you have to put him in that discussion," former Bear Jim Miller said on the Danny Mac Show when asked whether Lovie deserves consideration for Coach of the Year. "In tough times come tough decisions. And you have to give Lovie Smith credit, because he's addressed all of them at the end of the day."

The NFL is all about winning games, and Lovie's resume has plenty of that this year, but those wins are the result of drastic improvements on offense and defense.
"His defense is playing unbelievable. Offensively, they've dealt with the issues that were problematic on offense," Miller said. "Fine, you had four sacks early in the first half yesterday, but for the most part these guys have been getting it done the last four weeks. And at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. It's about getting W's in the win column and the Bears have been outstanding at that."
If the Bears continue to play like they have been, and continue to improve, then Lovie and the Bears might be walking away with more hardware this season than people anticipated.
