Long Grove Man Arrested For Impersonating Canadian Officials, Cheating Company
LONG GROVE, Ill. (CBS) -- The U.S. Attorney's office says a Long Grove man was arrested at his home this morning for impersonating Canadian government officials and cheating a company out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Now free on bond, 56-year-old Howard Leventhal of Long Grove is accused of pretending to be several officials in Canada's health system so he could get $800,000 from a Florida company.
The U.S. Attorney's office says Leventhal convinced the Florida company that he and his company were supplying Canada with a device to deliver detailed patient information to doctors.
The device was called the McCoy Home Health Care Tablet. Ostensibly named after the fictional Dr. McCoy from Star Trek.
Leventhal allegedly convinced the Florida company to pay him 800-thousand dollars so the company could collect even more money from Canada that Leventhal claimed he was owed.
Government prosecutors say the Canadian government never had any deal with Leventhal.
He was another court date next week.
