Logan Square Couple Wins County's First Marriage License
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Logan Square couple, engaged for five years, suddenly couldn't wait any longer.
As WBBM Newsradio's Regine Schlesinger reports, they were downtown at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday to get Cook County's first marriage license of the year.
Cook County Clerk David Orr personally performed the wedding ceremony for Diana Basner, 27, and Jeremy Nichols, 26.

It was love at first sight for the couple when they met on a CTA bus five years ago.
"There was an unruly bus driver who was being rude to a female passenger, and Jeremy stood up and said, 'You can't speak to her that way,' and he almost got arrested, and I had to speak with the police and let them know he was really being a knight in shining armor," Basner said.
Nichols proposed on their second date, and five years later, they're finally husband and wife.
"I'm a little disappointed it took so long, but I'm glad the time finally came," Nichols said.
The county waived its standard $60 marriage license fee for the couple.
They also won a weekend for two at the Palmer House Hilton downtown, tickets to "Green Day's American Idiot" at the Ford Center Performing Arts Oriental Theatre, dinner at the Lettuce Entertain You restaurant Scoozi!, X, and flowers from LaSalle Flowers.
