Lockport High School Employee Arrested On Student Sex Charge
LOCKPORT (CBS) -- A suspended Lockport Township High School District employee resigned this week and was arrested Thursday on accusations he committed an act of sexual conduct with a student in 2009.
Timothy J. Hagan, 39, of Darien, was arrested by Lockport police. He had been employed by the district as a senior network administrator, police said.
A criminal complaint alleges Hagan committed aggravated criminal sexual abuse against a 17-year-old Lockport student in 2009, police said Thursday.
"Timothy Hagan, who at the time was in a position of authority in relation to the victim, committed an act of sexual conduct with the student," the police department said in a Thursday statement. "Lockport police were made aware of this allegation earlier this month after the juvenile made an outcry to a family friend."
Hagan has been released on bond awaiting a court appearance, police said.
In a statement, the school district said Hagan "was suspended from his duties on May 17 after the district received a complaint that Hagan had entered into a personal relationship with an LTHS graduate while the graduate was still enrolled as a student."
"While the matter still remains under investigation by the district, Hagan has resigned his position with District 205. The LTHS Board of Education accepted Hagan's resignation at its May 23 board meeting."
"Because this is a personnel matter, the district cannot provide any other details. A criminal investigation is now being handled by the Lockport Police Department," the district said.
