Local Businesses Cheer End Of NHL Lockout
CHICAGO (CBS) -- So there may be a hockey season after-all, and nobody seems to be happier than those who operate businesses near the United Center.
Local Businesses Cheer End Of NHL Lockout
At the Palace Grill, 1408 W. Madison Street, where the walls are lined with Blackhawks photos, proprietor George Lemperis has much to be thankful for.
"Businesses in this neighborhood have been waiting since the end of April and it's just a great thing," said Lemperis. "I'm glad it's over. We can move forward."
The Palace Grill's become a destination restaurant for Hawks fans.
"So before practice, I get fans coming here and eating and then going to practice," said Lemperis. "50 or 60 people would show up here after practice in their Hawks jerseys and stuff."
But with no games, business has been tough. Now, with a season pending, Lemperis looks forward to getting a good night's sleep once again.
