Listen: Bob Arum With Craig Miller
By Craig Miller-
(CBS) Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank Boxing, joined me to preview the fight this weekend between Nonito Donaire and Guillermo Rigondeaux. The fight will take place this Saturday April 13th at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and will be broadcasted live on HBO.
Arum talks about the fight this Saturday and gives his thoughts on what we can see from both fighters. Nonito Donaire has been outspoken when it comes to steroid testing and wants to implement a program where fighters can be tested 24/7, 365 days a year. Arum gives his opinion on performance enhancing drugs and explains why the drug testing company, VADA, can help clean up boxing.
Bob also recaps the fights he put on last week in Macau, China. He is very excited about Olympic champion Zou Shiming, who is regarded as one of China's brightest boxing stars.
He also reports to me that Manny Pacquiao will fight in early October against either Juan Manuel Marquez or Timothy Bradley and the fight will take place in China. The official announcement on this fight should come by the end of the week.
Bob Arum promoted a fight in June, 2010 at Yankee Stadium between Miguel Cotto and Yuri Foreman. Dominic Pesoli, CEO of 8 Count Productions, plans to put together a similar fight card which will be held in Chicago at U.S Cellular Field. Listen to Arum as he explains why a fight at U.S Cellular Field can be successful and what he would do if he was promoting the fight.
