Listen: Blackhawks Coach Quenneville On Olympic Injury Risk, Bickell And More
(CBS) Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville told the McNeil and Spiegel Show on Friday morning that he doesn't worry about his 10 players getting hurt in the Sochi Olympics and that he's happy they have the opportunity to play such high-level competition.
"I don't even think of that," Quenneville said when asked about injuries. "I'm just watching it for the enjoyment of it all, rooting for our guys, watching how players play individually.
"I don't hold my breath.
"Playing in big games, being around big moments ... You can only use that experience later on, and you can use it to your advantage."
Quenneville also talked about the recent play of Bryan Bickell, who was under the microscope after some subpar performances this season.
"I thought he made some progress on the last couple games on the trip," Quenneville said. "Once Bick gets going there, he makes a big difference otohis teammates and his linemates."
