Lights Out at Wrigley
What is this, 1987?
Right as Tom Gorzelany was delivering the 3-1 to Blake DeWitt the power in the ballpark went completely out for just a nanosecond and the only thing anyone knows for sure so far is that DeWitt ended up walking.
The power came back on almost instantly in most parts of the ball park. Here in the press box it was as though the lights just winked off and on again. The electronic screen under the hand-operated scoreboard flipped back on almost instantly as did the displays on the second deck but the main lights--installed in 1988--are still out and could take some time to fully come back on.
