'Lengthy Lockout' Could Be On NBA Horizon
CHICAGO (WSCR) What should be a very important offseason for the Chicago Bulls could be shortened, or limited, thanks to an impending lockout and the uncertainty of a new collective bargaining agreement.
Teams will be less likely to make a move while not knowing the salary cap for next season. Until the NBA and the players union work out a new deal, any roster moves could be put on hold.
"We all know how negotiations go," K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, said on the Mully and Hanley Show. "I mean, you need a hard and fast deadline. It's still a couple weeks away and you gotta believe that they'll have some talks between now and then, but we also have to believe that there's going to be a lengthy lockout. All signs have pointed to that for a long time. Both sides have made it clear that there probably is going to be a lockout."

NBA fans curious how a potential lockout might unfold, should keep a close eye on the current NFL lockout, now into its forth month.
"The NFL is showing right now that until you miss paychecks, I don't think anything serious happens," Johnson said. "It seems like the NFL is getting a little more serious, because they're getting closer to missing paychecks. And I would assume that a similar path would follow for the NBA."
