Lemont Woman Makes False Bomb Threat At Willis Tower: Police
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 19-year-old southwest suburban Lemont woman who told a Willis Tower security officer her companion "had a bomb'' was arrested Thursday in the Loop, police said.
Julija Petraityte, of Lemont, was arrested Thursday at 5:35 p.m. at the Willis Tower in the 200 block of South Franklin Street, according to Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.
Petraityte was charged with one count of disorderly conduct, a false bomb threat, according to the officer.
She was going through security with a companion and when a security officer asked the companion if she had emptied all of her pockets, Petraityte remarked that her friend "had a bomb,'' said O'Brien.
"When she was warned that they take those statements seriously, she repeated it and she was arrested.''
No bomb was found, O'Brien said.
She was scheduled to appear in bond court Friday, but court information was not immediately available.
Petraityte had no history of this type of threat in the past, O'Brien said.
An FBI spokesman did not have any information immediately.
