Lemont H.S. Expects Classes To Resume Tuesday After Burst Pipe

(CBS) -- Administrators at Lemont High School expect classes will resume tomorrow after a burst pipe caused flood damage over the weekend, reports WBBM's Regine Schlesinger.

The school's director of school and community relations Tony Hamilton says it could have been a lot worse.

"We have a buildings and grounds staff member who lives across the street and was able to respond to it quickly," he said.

That employee shut off the water before too much damage was done.

"We called in a professional restoration company immediately and they began doing their thing. They were here until 2:30 in the morning and then, were back this morning as well."

The damage was confined to the school's first floor. Most classrooms were unaffected.
