LeBron Passes MJ In Impressive Playoff Stat Category
(CBS) LeBron James' resume can't yet rival Michael Jordan's -- those six championships still loom large for MJ -- but the Heat star has passed the Bulls legend as the all-time playoff leader in an impressive category.
With 32 points, 10 rebounds and five assists last night in a win against the Pacers, James tallied the 74th 25-point/five-rebound/five-assist game of his playoff career, which broke Jordan's mark of 73.
James accomplished his feat in his 151st career playoff game, while Jordan had his in 173 postseason games.
Stat benchmarks and quantifiers can obviously be modified to prove most anything you want when comparing two greats, but the James 25-5-5 stat is nonetheless remarkably impressive for his continued domination. On Wednesday, with Miami leading Indiana, 3-1, James will have a chance to lead the Heat to another rare feat: their fourth straight NBA Finals. Only two franchises in NBA history (Celtics and Lakers) have been to four straight Finals.
