Large Shipment Of Cannabis Intercepted In NW Suburb
SOUTH ELGIN, Ill. (STMW) - Police in South Elgin intercepted a large shipment of cannabis on Wednesday at a shipping company in the northwest suburb.
South Elgin police received information about a suspicious container and obtained a search warrant for a local shipping and receiving company, a police release said.
Police seized 37,162 grams of cannabis with an estimated street value of $470,000, the release said. Also seized was an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police could not immediately provide further information Thursday morning.
