Lance Armstrong Stripped Of Tour De France Titles
(CBS) -- The international cycling governing body is stripping Lance Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles.
The decision by the International Cycling Union also upholds a lifetime ban from the sport, that was put in place by the U.S. anti-doping agency.
UCI President Pat McQuaid said this will officially banish Armstrong's name from the record books and there will be no official winners for those years.
This news comes after the disgraced cyclist stepped down as chairman of the cancer charity he founded, "Livestrong."
He was also stripped of his sponsorships with Nike and Anheuser-Busch.
Armstrong has repeatedly denied any doping claims.
He has been accused being involved in the "most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program sport has ever seen," according to the U.S. anti-doping agency.
