Lakeview Massage Parlor Owner Charged With Assaulting Customer

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Lakeview massage parlor owner sexually assaulted a customer, then sent her a text message to apologize after surrendering to police, Cook County prosecutors said Wednesday.

When the 40-year-old woman went to East Meets West on Sept. 5, Takashi Takei massaged her neck area after she undressed and reclined on the table, Assistant State's Attorney Holly Grosshans said.

But then Takei allegedly started massaging the woman's buttocks without her consent.

He continued to tell the woman to turn over, Grosshans said. Takei massaged her inner thigh and proceeded to assault her, Grosshans said.

Takei, 43, then got on top of the woman at his business, in the 3100 block of North Lincoln, Grosshans said.

The woman told him to get off and Takei ended up leaving the room, Grosshans said.

When the woman got home that day, she told a friend and reported the incident to police. She also went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where evidence was collected using a rape kit.

Takei turned himself in Tuesday after a detective contacted him, Grosshans said. That evening, he sent a text message to the woman to say he was sorry and that he was going to jail, Grosshans said.

Takei, of 5600 block of North Karlov, allegedly confessed on video.

Judge James Brown ordered him held in lieu of $75,000 bail for criminal sexual assault.
