1 Dead, 3 Injured In 4-Vehicle Crash On Lake Shore Drive At Monroe Drive
CHICAGO (CBS)-- One person was killed and three people were injured in a four-vehicle crash on Lake Shore Drive at Monroe Drive early Wednesday morning.
According to police, a Chrysler 300 was driving north at a high speed on Lake Shore Drive near Monroe Street, when it lost control and struck a Toyota 4Runner which was also traveling north. The impact of the crash caused the Chrysler to slide sideways across all lanes into the southbound lanes.
The Chrysler then struck a Nissan Altima and a GMC Yukon in the southbound lanes.
The driver of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and the Chrysler passenger's condition was stabilized at Stroger Hospital of COok County.
A female passenger in the GMC was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The GMC driver suffered only minor injuries. The drivers of the Toyota and Nissan were not hurt.
