Pastor Charged With Child Sexual Assault Held On $750K Bond
LA GRANGE, Ill. (STMW) -- A west suburban pastor denied charges he sexually assaulted a nine-year-old girl, but admitted to police he raped another girl 22 years ago, prosecutors said. Both victims were related to him, prosecutors said.
Rev. Donald R. Jung, 59, of La Grange is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony. Jung was ordered held in lieu of $750,000 bail on Saturday.
Prosecutors said Jung drove to Milwaukee to pick up three young family members on Feb. 15 and brought them to his home. On the first night, he allegedly got into bed with the nine-year-old girl and sexually assaulted her.
She outcried to her sister the day after, but the two couldn't reach their mother on the phone.
Jung allegedly assaulted the girl again on Feb. 17, then drove the children back to Milwaukee the next day, prosecutors said.
Jung did not admit to police that he raped the child, but said he sexually assaulted another young family member 22 years ago, when she was 10. He said he was never criminally charged in the case.
Judge Edward Harmening ordered that Jung stay away from anyone under 18, and asked him to surrender his guns, FOID and passport.
Jung's public defender said the pastor was in the Army for 18 years. He has no criminal history
