Kustok To Enter Plea In Wife's Murder
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (CBS) - An Orland Park man will enter his plea Thursday in the high-profile murder of his wife.
Allan Kustok, 59, will appear for an arraignment at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Bridgeview Courthouse. He is charged in the shooting death of his wife, Anita "Jeanie" Kustok, 58, in their Orland Park home on Sept. 29.
Kustok is being held in lieu of $2 million bond in the shooting death of Anita Jean Kustok at the couple's home. He is being held in the Kankakee County Jail.
When he was questioned after the murder, Allan Kustok told police he awoke that morning to a "loud noise" and found his wife of 34 years "dead and lying on her back" with a "handgun in her right hand."
Investigators say Allan did not call 911 for the next hour and a half and then drove her to Palos Community Hospital where she was declared dead from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Once at the hospital, no injuries were found on Allan Kustok, and hospital authorities notified police.
Members of the Kustok family, including their son Zak, who played quarterback for Northwestern, and daughter Sarah, a local Chicago sports reporter, have expressed support for Allan Kustok saying they don't believe he could have committed the acts with which he's charged.
