Kreutz On NFL Lockout: 'Seems Like There's No End To It'
CHICAGO (CBS) When the NFL Lockout is finally lifted, teams will have to cram an entire offseason worth of coaching, evaluation and roster management into a very short amount of time. One of the things on Jerry Angelo's list will be Olin Kreutz.
Kreutz has been the anchor of the Bears offensive line for 14 seasons, and he'll be an unrestricted free agent starting as soon as the lockout is lifted.
"I think anybody who knows me knows I've always chosen to stay here (in Chicago) as long as everything was fair and even," Kreutz told the Star Advertiser's Ferd Lewis.
For a Bears offensive line that struggled to protect quarterback Jay Cutler a season ago, and an offensive line still trying to fill every position with capable players, losing Kreutz could be disastrous,
Kreutz, the Honolulu-native, should be enjoying his offseason while having just signed a new contract. But instead, just like the fans, he's forced to sit and watch, simply wondering when the football world will return to normal.
"At first I was watching it on the news trying to stay up with it, but now it just seems like there's no end to it," Kreutz told Lewis.
