Konerko Returns To White Sox Lineup
(CBS) Paul Konerko is back in the White Sox lineup after having a bone chip flushed in his wrist Tuesday.
The first baseman will bat fourth and serve as the designated hitter Thursday night as the White Sox try to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Blue Jays. Adam Dunn will play first and bat third.
Konerko has missed three straight games, although he sat Sunday just for rest and said the wrist issue popped up during Monday's off-day. He had a similar procedure done a year ago and said it has been an issue since the 2008 season. He's likely to have the bone chip removed completely in the offseason.
Here's Thursday's complete lineup as Jake Peavy faces Henderson Alvarez:
1. Alejandro De Aza - CF
2. Gordon Beckham - 2B
3. Adam Dunn - 1B
4. Paul Konerko - DH
5. Alex Rios - RF
6. A.J. Pierzynski - C
7. Dayan Viciedo - LF
8. Alexei Ramirez - SS
9. Orlando Hudson- 3B
