Konerko Leaves Game After Getting Hit By Pitch
(CBS) White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko left Sunday's game against the Red Sox after getting hit by a pitch in the fourth inning.
Konerko was hit just below his left knee by Red Sox pitcher Andrew Miller. After spending nearly a minute on the ground, Konerko took his base, but was removed from the game when the inning ending.
With Adam Dunn already in the lineup as the designated hitter, Brent Lillibridge took over at first base for Konerko, marking the first time in his major league career that he played first base.
Konerko's x-rays were negative, but his status for Monday's game against the Yankees is uncertain.
