Klis: Orton Wants To Come To Chicago
(WSCR) After the release of Kyle Orton from the Broncos, Mike Klis of the Denver Post joined The Boers and Bernstein Show to break down what's next.
Klis believes Orton wanted to come to Chicago all along.
"There was a mutual-type deal," Klis said. "Cutler's injury had something to do with the timing here. Orton was not wanting to move from the Broncos, even though he's been demoted to third string. ... However, he did let it be known that the one place that he would like to play for, if it could be worked out, would be the Bears. The Broncos had thought about waiving him anyway because he's got about $2.5 million left. There are all kinds of teams out there that could use a quality quarterback. ... One thing I don't know is what the Bears' interest in Orton is."
