Kirk: Fitzgerald Should Stay In Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS/WBBM) -- U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) says U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald is needed in Chicago, rather than in Washington running the FBI.
As WBBM Newsradio 780's Mary Frances Bragiel reports, last week, Fitzgerald reportedly made the "short list" of candidates to replace FBI director Robert Mueller.

Kirk reacted by saying he would rather see Fitzgerald in Illinois, to clean it up.
"He is one of the most capable U.S. attorneys in the country, and so I would miss him greatly if he's promoted," Kirk said.
A more recent article about the search names two former George W. Bush administration officials as having the most realistic chance of being asked to head the agency.
The Associated Press reported James Comey and Kenneth Wainstein, who served in sensitive national security posts under Bush, are likely contenders for the top FBI job, citing people familiar with the search.
Mueller's ten year term expires in September.
