Kerr: Rose 'Owes It To His Teammates' To Play
(CBS) Derrick Rose has been medically cleared to play for over two months.
Though doctors have told the former MVP of the league that playing in actual NBA games is the final step in the rehab process for his surgically repaired left knee, Rose continues to sit.
As the Bulls look to finish off the Nets on Thursday in Chicago, former Bulls champion Steve Kerr said it's time for Rose to get off the bench.
"I know I've kind of changed my mind," Kerr said. "I really supported the Bulls and Derrick with the way they've handled it. I think you err on the side of caution. But I think where the Bulls are now with this series with Kirk Hinrich struggling with this calf injury... If Derrick is OK and there's no threat to further injury. I think he has to put himself out there for 15-20 minutes. Look at what Noah and Hinrich are putting themselves through with their injuries. I think it's time for Derrick - maybe he owes it to his teammates. I guess that's what I'm saying.
