Kerr: Rose Is 'Running Away' With MVP Award
The Chicago Bulls are just a half-game behind the Boston Celtics for the top spot in the Eastern Conference, and that's pretty impressive considering the injuries the team has had to deal with.
Those who have watched the Bulls all season, or even for a game, know that the team's success has all come from its star point guard and MVP candidate, Derrick Rose.
"Well I think he's running away with it at this point," former Bull and current NBA analyst Steve Kerr said on the Mully and Hanley Show of Rose's MVP candidacy. "A month ago I went on the air with Turner and said 'Hey, don't forget LeBron James.' I mean LeBron, to me, is always the MVP in the league these days...But I changed my mind within the next couple of weeks watching Rose every night, and watching the Heat kind of implode there. Chicago has been so consistent. Rose has been so good, and he's the guy, through injuries to [Joakim] Noah and [Carlos] Boozer, he still has that team winning every night.

"I love him. I think he's a phenomenal player and a great kid, a great representative of the franchise. And I think the Bulls have a chance to go a long way, and obviously they do."
If there's one area that the Bulls do need to improve it would be at shooting guard. They were rumored to be in the market for some help at that position, but didn't add any immediate impact players at the trade deadline.
While Keith Bogans and Kyle Korver have both been making nice contributions at the two-guard, more offensive production from that position would make the Bulls more of contender.
"To me," Kerr said, "it's tough to win a title these days if you don't have a big-time scorer at the two, you look at Ray Allen or Kobe [Bryant] or whoever. I mean that's an important role and I think that's the one area where they can improve their roster."
