3 Dead, 2 In Critical Condition After Shooting In Kenosha, Wisconsin
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Three people are dead and two others critically injured after a domestic-related mass shooting Tuesday night in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Police believe the shooter is among the dead.
Police responding to a 911 call around 10:40 p.m. found 18-year-old Marian Pizarro, 17-year-old Sebastian Perez-Alvarez, and 24-year-old Jostin Gutierrez-Pagan had been shot and killed inside a home in the 600 block of 40th Place. A 35-year-old woman, Luz Pizarro-Perez, and a 14-year-old boy had been critically wounded.
A Flight for Life helicopter took one of the surviving victims to a local hospital, while an ambulance took the other to another hospital.
Kenosha police said the shooting appeared to be a domestic incident, and believe Gutierrez-Pagan was the shooter.
Investigators and evidence technicians were still at the home late Wednesday morning.
"As a community, we are shocked and saddened by this senseless loss of life," said Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian. "This year we have had 12 homicides and two-thirds of the cases have been results of domestic violence. The current hardships people are facing – including the pandemic – seems to have escalated conflict in some households.
