Kenny Williams Buys $3.5 Million Gold Coast Home With Help From White Sox
(CBS) Kenny Williams is moving to the North Side.
Don't worry, the White Sox GM isn't taking a new job, but he will reside on the other side of town.
Williams, who is expected to be promoted to team president when the season ends, bought a $3.5 million house in Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood, according to Crain's Chicago Business.
The GM currently lives in the South Loop, but bought the 6,300-square-foot Gold Coast home near Rush and Oak streets with a little help from the White Sox. According to the report, Chicago White Sox Ltd. provided him with a $2.15 million loan to finance the purchase.
The house was originally built in 1898, but the seller spent about $4 million gutting and renovating the home. It features a Christopher Peacock kitchen, onyx flooring, marble bathrooms and "smart house" automated systems, according to the report.
