Kenny On The Exciting Part Of Spring Training
Spring training has a habit of dragging on and becoming redundant at points, but there are always some exciting elements for a team's coaching and front office staff.
"Well, the veterans are the veterans, they get ready at their own pace," Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams said during the White Sox-Cubs spring training game on Friday when asked what was exciting for him during the spring. "But it's nice to see improvement in the young players or the players that, like a Brent Lillibridge for instance, who has been a starter in his entire minor league career, just now last year, learned the utility role and the bench role...Because it's a very difficult thing when you're used to playing everyday and all of a sudden you're not that guy.
