Kellen Davis: Time To Prepare For The Next Game
CHICAGO (CBS) -- In the wake of the Bears' crushing and penalty-laden loss to the Detroit Lions on Monday, Bears tight end Kellen Davis is focused on regrouping and looking forward to the next game.
The Bears lost to the Lions 24-13 on Monday night, and racked up six false-start penalties in the first half – an NFL season high for the game. The team looked unnerved by the raucous crowd at the game, and Davis said that posed a major problem.

"It's mostly the noise, because not being able to hear the snap; kind of relying on guards to essentially snap, which throws all of our timing off, all of our motions, and anything else that we've been practicing all week and doing, which makes it difficult to get the timing of the snap every time," Davis said, speaking with 670 The Score's Jason Goff.
The Bears were also at a major disadvantage against Detroit's defense, Davis said.
"For me, Detroit, they play their defensive ends out so wide, it doesn't allow me to see back inside for the ball – I can't look away for the guy I'm supposed to be blocking on the play when the ball snaps, and I'm basically waiting for him to make a move so I can move. It puts us at a pretty good disadvantage," he said.
But despite the flop in the Motor City, the focus needs to be on the next game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday, Davis said.
"Obviously, it's tough when you go out and don't do as well as you want to, I mean in anything, so you've just got to keep your head out and keep trusting, and try to be as professional about it as you can, and have a good week of practice, and try to prepare for the next game," he said.
He pointed out that the Vikings are "a lot better than their record sounds."
"I think we're going to try to keep pushing forward, and be a high-tempo and as best as we can be, and the Vikings are pretty good against the run; I believe they're first or second against the run –the stop and run – so that's going to be a challenge for us," he said.
Among several other subjects, Davis also addressed the criticism of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler that goes back to last season's NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers.
"I think it's kind of funny that everybody's talking about the NFC Championship Game, and how Jay's not tough, you know if he can make it or not," Davis said. "You saw how many sacks he took last year, and how tough they were, you know – he's one of the toughest quarterbacks in the league without a doubt."
