Keady: 'Illinois Is A Better Job Than Purdue'
After a lot speculation, Purdue head coach Matt Painter will remain the team's head coach. He had met with officials from Missouri about taking the same position for the Tigers.
If Painter had left Purdue, the school's search for a head coach could have excluded one person, Illinois' Brice Weber.
"He may leave," former Purdue head coach Gene Keady told the Chicago Tribune, "but he'll never go to Purdue from there."
The reason Weber wouldn't leave for Purdue is simple.
"Illinois is a better job than Purdue," Keady said. "You've got a better recruiting state."
