Kasper: Cubs' World Series Will Take Time
(WSCR) The Cubs believe they have the baseball man that will take them to their first World Series title in 103 years, but that World Series might be a few years in the making.
It's important to remember the Cubs are coming off a 91-loss season in which they finished fifth in their division, and that's something even Theo Epstein can't fix over night.
"It's gonna be a long haul here," Cubs play-by-play man Len Kasper told The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Tuesday. "I think that some people are putting the cart in front of the horse here. The Cubs are coming off a 91-loss season. There's a lot of work to be done.
"All you can do if you're Tom Ricketts is hire the best possible people, put them in the best position to succeed, give them all the resources available, and then you take your chances. I certainly like the Cubs' chances long term starting in 2012.
