Kane To Undergo Wrist Surgery

CHICAGO (CBS) Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane will undergo wrist surgery Tuesday, but is expected to be fully healed by the time training camp starts, the team announced Friday.

The surgery will repair a scaphoid fracture in his left wrist and he is expected to fully recover in 6-8 weeks.

Blackhawks head team physician Dr. Michael Terry had this to say about the procedure in a statement released by the Blackhawks:

"Patrick Kane sustained a left wrist injury which came to light recently during his off-season training. He will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a scaphoid fracture. We anticipate a full recovery in 6-8 weeks and in time for training camp. We do not anticipate any long-term issues."
