Kane Remains On Target For Postseason Return
(CBS) Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane on Wednesday skated with his teammates for the first time since suffering a left knee injury on March 19, and he told the Chicago Tribune he's on track to return and be fully healthy for the start of the postseason, which was the plan all along.
Chicago hosts Montreal tonight before finishing the regular season with games at Washington on Friday and at Nashville on Saturday. The playoffs start next week.
"From what it looks like, a week away from playoffs, that's right about the timetable that they told me I should be healed," Kane said, according to the Tribune.
The injury feels pretty good and I'm pretty confident with it, especially being on the ice my fifth time in the past six days. It's an injury that they said it would probably keep me out the rest of the regular season when it happened, so it looks like it's staying true to that."
Chicago coach Joel Quenneville also said Jonathan Toews could begin skating Thursday as he recovers from an upper-body injury, the Tribune reported. He's also expected back for the start of the playoffs.
Kane is second on the Blackhawks with 69 points, while Toews is third with 68.
