Kane Expected To Return
UPDATED 12/28/10 6:06 a.m.
While Patrick Kane refused to put a target date on his return, it is expected happen Tuesday night.
Kane is expected to play Tuesday night against the St. Louis Blues.
With the Blackhawks playing some of their best hockey of the season, and winning four consecutive games, Kane's return would give the Blackhawks even more reason to smile.
If there has been one constant this season, it's been injuries. The Blackhawks have had to go stretches without our stars like Kane and Marian Hossa, as well as role players like Viktor Stalberg and Fernando Pisani.
"It's more of a pain thing," Kane told the Chicago Blackhawks' website. "It's a little bit tender, but overall it's a lot better than where I was at last week when I was trying to skate. It's one of those things that feels right when you walk on it, but you put it in a boot and it feels a little different."
Kane's return, along with Hossa and Stalberg's on Sunday, will present coach Joel Quenneville with some tough decisions when putting together his lines, as his players battle for ice time.
"I think that can be healthy in a lot of ways," Quenneville told the team's website. "Sometimes competition and tough decisions are welcomed, and we do have some tough decisions to make when we're looking at putting the roster together."
